Here's the bumper I built for my friends 96 Taco. It's pretty much done, needs a little tweaking but for the most part its finished. The tire mount needs to move in about 2in and be angled back to match the tailgate, right now its dead straight up and down, but it looks odd because of the angle the tailgate and cap hatch is at. It also is going to get a dual jerry can mount and some more frame tie ins.

Stats for his Taco= ARB front bumper, OME front lift, rear shackle lift (OME rear kit came today and will be installed soon) 32x11.50R15 BFG A/T's and of course my rear bumper.

I will have to post up a pic of mine after it gets installed Friday (hopefully!). It is being added to my All Pro Offroad rear bumper. The design we came up with is similar to what you did. Pat came up with some neat hardware to use too.

Looks good so far!

I like the general design and implementation. The only thing I would change would be the angle of the spare, so that it's vertical or slightly leaned forward.

Other than that, if I ever add something like that to my 2004 dd Taco, it would be based on this. Good work.

Yeah its going to be changed.

where did you get the spindle that the tire carrier rotates on?

I got it from AtoZfab.com

Here are some pictures after I changed the tire mount, its now angled with the cap and a lot closer to the body.
