has anyone done it? or is it possible?

searched google, didnt find a single pic of a lc200 with tube bumper

I want to change the stock bumpers both front and rear, but I don't ARB's or or other similar guards! they weight alot; not good for dune bashing IMO.

I think you are going to have to go custom on that. I have NEVER seen any bumpers but the ARB, Kaymar, TMJ etc...

walle91 - i have been thinking of making a set - but was never sure anyone would ever use/want one. if you email me a pic of what your looking for on a different kind of SUV/Truck email it to me and I'll see what my engineers can come up with.

And then you can come over to RAK and take a look when I'm done. Im also working on a new kind of IED protection and have plans to cut it down to make it a skid plate also.

any chance did you make it out to Xplore UAE IV? I was in the MRAP sticker 208

lool, small world I guess, well I was supposed to be a marshal on the event, but I ended up in uni library studying! so you were in that MRAP, interesting!

I'll contact you throw email ASAP.

With the way the bumper covers on the 200 are, I'm not sure you can just cut them and add a traditional tube style bumper and have it look good.
Why do you want a tube bumper? If weight is a concern, just run it how it is with the stock covers. It would be cheaper to replace them than having custom stock tube bumpers made.

On page 7 of the pic thread, there is a rhino lined 200 with ARB front and a custom semi tube rear bumper. It looks as if the fabricator used sheet welded to the tube to blend it in with the 200's body.

I would also have a look at the Baja LX that has been running. It has an interesting front pre-runner style skid. That may serve you better than a tube bumper.

Good luck.

Till now I have changed both front and rear bumpers twice :/ I have the car since 4 months, and it does cost alot TBH for each bumper! 400$ each

I think something like the Baja LX can serve the purpose! but ill need to lift the car and get new rims and tires.

That should've been done first...I'm not sure the 200 in stock form was engineered to dune jump.

One of my usual suggestions to get some ideas... sniff around the various 2nd gen Tundra builds. The front frame/mounting, suspension, etc is all the same or similar to the 200. Should get you going in the right direction....

Took the idea from the LX570 baja - will try and get the mounting measurements tomorrow and see how to make a brace going though the grill next.

but using the OEM bumper - this will actually reduce your clearance not increase it.

I think ill have to lift it then! btw have you received my email?

looks a bit different, I see tubes going into the grills

I'm considering to get kings soon, so I think I'll be ok with clearance

Nice looking Lexus

Hey sorry I haven't had time to try the bumper build - don't know if you saw in the newspaper but. Had a huge grand opening and right now I'm at Term 2 on my way back to Iraq for a week or two.

But when I get back I'll try and give it a shot - I also have a TLC 200 G DLX version coming in (barndoors) that I'm going to setup with a bunch of bolt-ons for the trade shows
