Hey guys I need someone in the are who can bend some tube for me.

2 Lengths of tube with the same 3 bends in each length. Went to a place and they wanted $150 bucks w/out th tube. I'm going to buy the tub myself just need a guy who can bend it.

If they know what they are doing shouldn't take more than 15min per piece. Thanks in advance

Sam

So to be clear... you need someone with a bender? or do you want Billy Bob to bend it around his leg with a torch? Fab work isn't cheap. $150.00 sounds about right.

I think he is looking for one of us that can save him the $150. ;)

I might be able as I have a bender at my disposal but I am out of commision and not sure when I will be able to do it. If you are not in a hurry I might be able to in a month or so.

yes someone with a bender or someone who is not looking to rip me off. Fab work isn't cheap, but $150 for putting a few bends in a pipe does not justify what should be 30 minutes of work. I I'm not looking for free, just reasonable.

I need it done by June 14th or so.

You're not paying for the 30 mins of work Sam. In the job line your going into you should know that. You're paying for the guy running the bender to know what he's actually doing instead of making a wrong bend and you having to go out and buy more pipe. It takes skills to fab stuff up. You're paying for his experience and know how.

I doubt you'll find it cheaper.

I'd have Mo do it if he can do it by your deadline.

Well aware of what I'm paying for (worth about $50), but thanks:rolleyes: (If you're comfy paying such prices, I have a great piece of swamp land I'd like to sell you in Florida).

Sam,

Try some of the guys in the trail crew or Southern California Land Cruisers club I recall one or more of them telling me they had benders.

My local muffler shop guy has bent some tube for me in the past for like $20 so you may want to give that a shot in your area.

Prepping for Rubithon? I'm thinking about signing up for the friday run; most likley adding some more tube to my DIY 4x4 labs rear and a skid for the cat but not until next month. If you still need it then let me know.

don't mean to be rude, but if you think it only takes 15 min to bend a piece of tube....

lay it out mark your bend points and then set it up in the bender for each seperate bend.

i'd say $150. is pretty cheap.

i'll go away now ;)

Sam, I might be able to hook you up with a buddy of mine. He builds class 1 cars and trophy trucks. For 50 bucks, three bends should be no problem. Call me tomorrow at the office and I will give him a ring, he’s in Costa Mesa/Newport off of 17th Street.

I was told by the shop that it would take about 15minutes per side (no more than 1 hour total), not my words.

Got a hold of friend of a friend who said he might be able to assist, going to talk with him tomorrow, and follow up on all the help you guys have given me. Thanks and yup its for the CON...:D
