Is anyone intersted in going? I'm leaving Thursday afternoon sometime. All you have to have is a Toyota truck, just like tlca. No admission fee.

Heres the info
2008 TTORA Takeover

I am out, I will be in Washington state visiting the inlaws.
Slightly jealous as I do want to check out harlan.
Dave

I'm signed up, have the vacation time scheduled, have money for fuel in bank, and plans to grab a friend and his Cruiser along the way. Leaving from work Thursday 10am...

I have a few things I'd like to finish up on the Cruiser but nothing huge.

Nick

I'm pretty much good to go also....I got a front locker but I'm not sure if I will install it without some Longs (sure wish Karl would buy some 30 spline big dogs) and if Jim gets my carb done I'll get that put on.

I will be hotelling this....My old man is coming and he wants a place to s*** and shower so he's paying ;) Holiday Inn Express. He's also towing my 40 down if I can find a trailer to rent.

FWIW I rented a nice trailer with electric brakes from a local (Harrison, OH) trailer dealer. From what I have seen this is a common practice. You might check it out as an alternative to the more commn UHaul car haulers. IIRC there are a couple dealers on I-275 between I-71 and I-75.

Nick

Smith Trailers has some nice haulers $150 from Thursday-Mon. the are up on North 275

well crap..smith trailers are all booked up

I'd like to go but i am working that week and wouldnt be able to leave tillabout 7pm friiday it's an 8.5 hour ride from here so i think i will have to pass.

Karl,

I am camping at the camp ground NOT associated with the event. My pal Bud from Budbuilt wasn't thrilled with the camp ground choice so we are gonna be at the "other" camp ground. The event CG advertised 2, yes 2, showers per sex as a benny.:rolleyes: I kinda like a shower in the morning instead of coffee...

I am registered.

Nick

What is the better campground?

thanks

OK looks like my pal Bud was confused about which CG was which. So, I will be at the event CG in Putney. Sorry for the confusion. Back to your regularly scheduled event preparations....

Which in my case means it's a last minute scramble to finish any in-process repairs and maybe do a few others too. Putting the tow rig back together now. Still need to work on the Cruiser. I might be working on it at the campground Thursday evening too.

kick arse event

I pretty much just winged it with my 7 year old, did not really know where I was going or anybody that would be there.

IMHO it was better run than the TLCA events I have gone to and it was FREE, including dinner and raffle.

I respect the effort and opportunity so I am going to suscribe and pony up!

just an FYI

Glad you had fun Karl, Cole seemed like he was having fun.
I'm feeling better for the most part, at least I can eat. We made it to cincy at 3:30am after a quick nap north of Lexington.
TTORA is free for anyone. Toyota ponied up for the grub.

Fall Trip? You're leading.

Good event. I liked the cheap event cost too. Wish some of the TLCA events would figure out that it don't have to cost a pile of cash to be a great event.

Only gripe I have is that my trailer is WAY too heavy for my tow rig. I MIGHT have made 9.5 mpg average for the whole trip. Gotta get the bumper pull trailer put back together that we have in the driveway before the next event.

TTORA forum in the link above will lead to some of the pictures. Not all are up yet AFAIK though...

Harlan is definitely a place worth returning to in the future IMHO.
