Trying to join the club

I have found the LC below and am curious if you guys think it would worth getting.

cosmetically it is ruff, scuffed bumper, side view mirror missing piece of shroud. front seats and steering wheel torn. claims it has about 40k left before timing belt needs replacing. what scares me is the mileage.
is the price ok and if not what do you think I should offer?

Looks pretty darn nice to me in the pics. Interior, under hood and under carriage pics would be nice.
Is it actually the original owner selling it or someone flipping it without updating the title?
Get the vin, pull it up on Toyota owners to view maintenance history

Than get a $4 Carfax from Craigslist.

If the maintenance is there, actual owner, no odometer play, buy it.

Original owner, I trust there is no funny business. as far as maintenance history I called the mechanic who serviced it last 10 years and he said its sound mechanically. Has another 40k on timing belt. No records or anything documented.

I'd still check the vin on Toyota owners website and see what they have. Then I'd be at his door with 4500 cash and a personal check book for anything over that, sometimes cash is enticing.

I called about this one before I bought mine; they've come down on price as they weren't willing to budge off of $6500 a month ago. Now it's $5999 obo.....show up with $5000 cash and go from there. Prob get it for $5500 which would be a great deal I think.
