Do you have the PN for the 2nd row dome light? Does it do a better job lighting than the DVD player?

it doesnt, they are roughly the same size lights. Might be the same size, however, cruiserparts.net has them new for $30. The best way to get sweet lighting is to use LED's. I have them throughout and they are bright as hell.

Not to mention the audio cuts in and out all the time. Half the time my kids are listening to static. Then every time I turn off the vehicle the movie starts over again. They've seen the beginning of Beauty and The Beast hundreds of times but I don't think they've ever seen the end of it.

Apparently my kids figured out when shutting the vehicle off that if you flip the screen up the movie restarts but if you leave the screen down the movie resumes play from your last spot. I also had an issue with my unit being DOA and it turned out that the 2 inline fuses under the glove box were missing.

it was working fine for awhile then started getting more and more sensitive to DVDs and just cutting back to the "Toyota" screen.
and if you have smaller children that can't work the remote it is a pain in the ass because if it skips or stops you have to pull over and fix it. Also the DVD player couldn't be in a more worse spot.

I researched the system a bit when I was trying to find a replacement knob for the rear seat volume control (gave up on that). Anyway, as I recall the system components are Pioneer. You might luck out and find a manufacturers part number on the DVD player if you pull it out. Otherwise maybe try the used parts places to see if they'll sell you just that bit.

If you have to gut the system, I'll take a volume knob!

Ooh, me too! Why is it that both my rear volume knobs are missing? Can these be sourced from the dealer?

Yes, i just yanked my ceiling mounted unit and sold it. Installed the OEM second row dome light assembly. The kids never watch DVDs anyway. Everything is digital now.
Where did you get the OEM second row dome light? Is there a part number?

Sorry to revive such an old thread. But I'm using the search feature to find a solution.
