eh, what can ya do? i am not worried at this point but i do fear the bill. i dropped it off last week to have the A/C fixed. it worked for a day and went kaput again. then, over the weekend got some bad deathwobble, found a loose wheel bearing. took it there to have it replaced.

oh, now that i think about it i wonder if they are going to go in there and just tighten it up? it needs replacing! we shall see. also having the brake bleeder nipples replaced and the brakes lines bled, the pedal almost goes to the floor after the SS lines were installed.

i am guessing its gonna be expensive but i dont have the time or the place to get these things fixed on my own and have the truck down for a week while i do so.

slow on the list lately. people are enjoying their summer!

hahahaha... they just called me and told me that to replace the wheel bearing, the whole knuckle and birf. come as a kit and its $2,500! hahahaha

i literally burst out laughing. i was really nice about it but said "its clear you guys have not done this work before so it scares me to have you in there fussing around"...

this is fun... more updates to come later.

They're in my neck of the woods and I've heard mostly bad things about them.
Definitely keep an eye on them.

Good luck.

yeah, i told them not to touch it. button it up. they fixed the AC and are doing the brakes and thats that. time to call C-Dan.

If you can take it to Kabilian's car care in marshfield, MA. It's a bit out of the way but Paul will do it for half that or prolly less. Best Toyota guy out there

really? i just ordered all the parts from c-dan ... new wheel bearings, trunion, extra axle seals... the whole kit for both sides.

i want to do it myself so i know it will be done and sparkley clean but i cant find the time.

has he done a complete axle/knuckle rebuild for you?

Shame on them. You should ask them if the motor needs replacing as well.

Stealershps equal bad. Everytime I go into a stealership I get an unpleasant uneasy feeling.

dealerships guarantee their work. that is why i go there. good service at a dealer is worth the price. thats my opinion and i am sticking to it.

Dude the only guarantee is they will screw up your truck! Get it out of there! I would never let a dealer touch my 80! No way! Retards!

He hasn't done that but he's fixed my cars exclusively for the last 4 years. I've never had to take anything back to him for faulty work. His name is Paul and he's just off Rte 3 South in Marshfield at exit 12. He's fixed any problems I've had with the australian trucks.

His number is 781-834-6558. (It's sad I have that number memorized.)

this is a very valuable comment that ads a lot to the thread. thanks chris!

i already said i asked them to button it up and not touch it. pay attention. you know, i almost thought about not acknowledging your post with a reply but then i thought of how i would be remiss if i did not point out how unproductive and unnecessary it was.

best of luck to you and the maint. on your truck.

thanks j... i will be calling him. since this is going to be such a big job (prolly a week or so) i have no problem going to drop it off. all the parts are on their way for a front end rebuild and re-gear.

Reread my whole post and your previous comment as you clearly did not read it very well. I wasn't going to reply but I would be remiss if I did not point out your error.

What is this?

Hmm...seems like they touched it to me.

Hey I'm a Marshfield local and have seen quite a few 40's and 55's at Kabilians. My friend brought his 40 there and they treated him well. Good Luck!
