Hi have a set of sliding windows that came out of my HJ 47 crew cab. Assuming they would fit most models but if anyone is interested I can post some pics. Also have some custom made diamond seaglaze windows that are fixed (no slider) that fit as well?

well i am going to down to FL to pickup and istall my engine this weekend......hopefully?? and then I will be driving back to NC. I am more curious if troopie slidin windows are the same as my LX sliders even though I no longer have the sliders.

Hi Rufus and Roberto,

below are the diamond seaglaze windows I had custom made for my Cruiser in powder coat black. They are a company we deal with out of Canada that makes our boat windows and they were kind enough to do me the favor of building these. The problem was that they were supposed to be sliders so they are building some new ones.

They were $500 but I will get rid of them for any Mud friends for $300 and you pay shipping. I get a discount on fedex so I could ship them ground and let you know how much. The other images of the sliders are the original windows I pulled out. They would need new felt but the seals around the windows are good just the windows themselves need a little work. There is a crappy tint job on them that should come off as well. I would take $100 and you pay shipping.

I can take some more detailed photos if you want. Just let me know.

its a troop carrier chassis that was modified by the Arkana company for the WA mines. HJ47. don't know if the windows were original or not. you probably know better than I.

Windows are not original, sorry.

Roberto:
The LX slider windows are identical to troopy sliders (factory ones, that is). I replaced one of my sliders in my LX with a window out of a troopy.

yeah, took a closer look and there is an Australian phone number and company name on them. Assuming this is the company Arkana used when doing the window mods. Definitely vintage though. I'll have them here at my shop if anyone ever needs. Not worried about the cash just hate to see them sit here if someone can use.....

hey HJ, while I gotcha here. I'm keen to see some pictures of a near original dash. I'm considering a semi-major resto on the interior and where my switches are is painted black down near the radio delete and ash tray. Was wondering if this would have had the same paint as the rest of the dash/interior and not black? Just curious.

Left side of LHD (tach is factory, but not factory-fitted; it is 90 degrees off):

Finally, troopy dash, RHD:

All RHD are 82-84 Aussie spec, the LHD is an 83 US Spec. Hope that helps. The bolt-in dash is orginal pain on both of the 40s, but is painted on the troopy.

thanks Josh, yes very helpful. does seem that the area with the ash tray and radio would have been black. cool. trying to get some of my WA buddies to locate some parts. Have a bunch needed but speaking of tach.... mine works only partially. I've sprayed with contact cleaner but just assuming it is bad. You have anything like this happen with your diesel tachs?

see ya and thanks.

Chris,

The bottom 3" or so (up to that little indent) is black, yes. The rest is the same silver color as the speedo cluster, glove box door and tach bezel.

I've not had a problem with the tach, but it works using a pickup on the flywheel, so it could be either the tach or that pickup; which is mounted on your bell housing.

I can probably find a tach for you down here and ship it up for not too much. Let me know if you want me to look. The tach bezel is hard to get, but the tach is the same as out of an HJ60 so they are reasonably plentiful.

Thanks HJ,

Handy on the connection. I actually have a couple of the manuals here at my work so at lunch I'll see if I can trace that cable out and see if it is loose or needs a little contact cleaner. This truck is full of WA red dust. Pretty cool when I'm way back in the recesses and all this red dirt comes out from every little crevice.

I'll let you know here if OK and I appreciate the willingness to help a brother out. May take u up on this one day soon.
