Looking for a troopy.

This will be my 4th cruiser in 6-7 years. I've had a 40, 60, and for a brief period a 55.

According to my wife I completed my "last project" almost a year ago on my 74 mini clubman track car.

Unfortunately with a newborn and two dogs it doesn't get much use and I don't see the need for two cars to myself.

I convinced the wife to let me do another "last project" so I'm looking for something family friendly.

Right now I'm looking into vehicles I've owned in the past as I am familiar with them and getting them to a daily driver status wouldn't be 2 difficult.

I really want another FJ40/early bronco but there really isn't enough room. I could go for another merc 300GD but parts cost/availability/wait time was horrible.

Really looking for a 4 door but I think I can live with just the two on a troopy. My only other option would be a 67-72 3 door suburban which I'd probably do an LS swap on.

I'm going to stop babbling now, let me know what you have!!

Thanks

So let me get this straight.....you "really want a 40 or Bronco but there really isnt room" - So instead you want a Troopy???

For a family, I would recommend a 55 or 60 build or if you wanted the 40/45 look with more room, you could go with a 4 door Troopy style build on the chassis of your choice using a Gozzard or Redline/Aqula tub.

Yes I know. My wife wants me to get another 60, and she's open to the 55. I know it will be a PITA to get a car seat out of whatever rear seat I fashion up but I think I can deal.

My main concern is cargo space. With a newborn and 2 dogs I cant move into a 40 or early bronco setup but a troopy will have more than enough room for a stroller and other goodies. I currently looking at 55's and 67-72 suburbans.

I actually have a line on a motorless 60 suburban k20 with barn doors that if I can lock down on a decent price I'll probably do an LS swap. Also talking too 2 members here that have 55's up for grabs. Crunching LS swap number vs electrical/2F work.

I'm all over the place right now.

thanks
