trickle charger for 99 vette, cig lighter type??? (1 Viewer)

Anyone know of a good trickle charger that i can get to charge a 99 vette? I am looking for one that you plug into the cigarette lighter and simply have it pluged into a wall outlet. It is for a friend of mine's father's pride and joy and I wanted to get it as a gift but dont want to get a piece of crap that doesnt work...

Any help would be great. Google gave far too many options for me to make sense of.

I use on of these on each bike. You can hard wire the plug to the battery or use the alligator clips. I don't know if you can get it with a lighter plug.

The smart chargers are best as they shut off when the battery gets to 12.6V then turn back on when the charge goes low again.

I had this one on an atv and it worked great. But I recall reading about one that porsche owners used that plugged in the cig lighter and worked the same way. No need to rag on me for owning a porshe yet... I don't.

I will try to search further, otherwise get one of these. I am afraid they won't use this one or drive off with it attached and dragging.

I suppose you could wire it to a cigarette outlet. Cig charger isn't going to charge if the cig outlet is accessory powered. It would have to be constant powered. I don't know what it is on a vette because I'm not a 50 year old, grey chest hair showing, tight sansabelt wearing douche. I know it wouldn't work on any of my Toyotas.

it is a friends dad. he is 87 and it is his baby. i will check and see if the cig lighter is always powered. if so, i will try to find a simple plug in version. the reason for the simplicity is the guys age..

I had a friend who bought his vette at about 45. He was not too good with the plug in pigtail either.
