Tried a search and only came up with one thread. I'm trying to remove some old baked in tree sap from the previous owner parking the truck under a tree. Someone mentioned 3M Tar and Adhesive remover...how well does this product work? I just tried Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover and it do much for this baked on stuff.

Would Clay Bar be better?

TIA.

I have found mineral spirits, gently applied to the crusty stuff helps soften it up; I've used WD40 also.

After goop removal, was & wax the area , or the whole rig :-)

On warm days we get pine tree sap drippings. I've found isopropyl alcohol works well for that stuff even after its hardened, old and crusty.

On a related note, the HEET fuel additive used to dry out gas has isopropyl in it.

Just powered through some baked on tree sap, had fantastic results with Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover--5 bucks from Advance Auto. Spray enough product to completely cover the sap and let it soak for a full minute. I was able to use a terrycloth towel to scrub the sap away.

Works beautifully to loosen up some really hard to clean road grime too.
