Another suggestion, albeit a bit suggestive...
Chainsaw? George Washington may have been honest, but the cherries were making a mess of his truck. Not to mention the crap from the birds that were eating the cherries!
He had a right to take matters into his own hands.

the alcohol didn't work. spent the last two hours on it, gonna try that helicopter canopy stuff.

You need to use the clay bar and the special spray. go to a body shop and ask them what they use for the lubricating spray for their clay bars for taking off overspray. Go get the same thing. You can also try using a towel soaked in hot water to soften up the sap before you start with the clay. Be sure to keep the clay and the area you're working on really wet with the spray solution. As for the tree, a really strong fertilizer, quadruple dose, not diluted will pretty much kill it and leave no obvious reason. ;) Sap should stop falling within a month or two.

Mr. clean magic eraser and hot soapy car was water. on the glass not sure on the paint. Try first on a discreet area....

try PB Blaster I get it at home depot. That stuff will remove anything yet wont harm the paint. It is the only thing that would remove the goop when I took off my rear landcruiser emblem

i ended up having to have the cruiser detailed at a paint shop to get it off. ouch. but did find that the dealership may have used some treatment on the glass to make small pits less noticeable, now i can see tons of them. looking for something to use on the glass now.
