Soooooo:
As you all know it’s real easy to find something to fix on a 50 year old truck. Especially one that gets “Sunday driven” like mine does. Lol after we put it up on the lift to do the clutch we found that it needed a little spa treatment to get it ready for wheeling season.
The damage so far:
Clutch and wear items, seals and bearings.
Transfer case output seals
Parking Brake rebuild , shoes
Correct drive shaft bolts, all were loose
Replaced spring bushings
Fix transfer case shifter linkage
Welded a crack on the Hyper Shackle
Oil change
Drain and fill front and rear diffs
Pinion seals
Replaced diff drain plugs with trail gear plugs
Drain and fill tranny and transfer case.
Full knuckle rebuild including knuckle and wheel bearings
New front brakes and Calipers
Flush /fill brake fluid ( probably 20 years old)
New brake master
New intake/ exhaust gasket
Install an actual muffler
If it looks like something’s missing…. We did the backing plate eliminator kit and the heavy duty wiper retainers when the gears went in and front end was rebuilt last time.
