Not a blockbuster, just a stock 71' FJ40 with some shiny paint on it.

You will probably outperform it on the trail.

What's a desktop offroad? Some stupid term your new but buddy came up with? This site is 98% about wrenching on your rigs. Not talking about what trails you accomplished.

I guess if I
1) didn't know how to wrench on anything (you) or
2) paid someone to wrench on everything (Brock)
I would only use this site to BS and show pics of my rig in the grass and wheeling. Some of us like to restore these rigs and this site in invaluable for that. If that's a desktop offroader fine, but that sounds more like a term thrown around the JeepsUnlimited and FJCruiser Forums where they talk about changing out there overhead light bulbs with a more intense, brighter bulb.:flipoff2: newbie!

I think where the side wall meets the tread they have stregthen the side wall.

That is where they would normaly wear is where the tread meets the sidewall. If they have continued over that area with the retread, that might be the reason why these are perfomong well.

You guys are so sensitive to people disagreeing with you. I was simply adding valuable information about retreads, not specifically about Treadwright.

Jeremy...FAMILY YOU.

Ask Glenn how many times I paid him to wrench on my FJC or my FJ60 and how many times I jumped in and did all of it or most of it myself.

edited again for Jeremy since he wants to attack my ability to work on my own vehicle.

Did I hear that Treadwright changed their name? :flipoff2:

If they made a 35x~12.5x15 I would probably order a set for my next tires on the Pig...but the closest I see is a 33 or a 37x16.5

Their website says and they told me another company sued them because high tech was a name they were using.

Jeremy

I don't know you, you don't know me assume I am joking with you. You gave me a new name so I gave you a new one. You and Brock are so sensitive.

Also who cares if you pay or do it yourself some people can't aford or have a place to store a land cruiser in a million pieces.

And who cares if I take 15 years to restore my truck and never plan on taking it wheeling.

All of the subject matter that is being thrown around was started and poked by Brock. I guess I should just let the dog play with the ball by himself. Eventually he'll get bored and leave it alone.

Thanks for editing it Brock, my feelings feel much better now. You know my button, and aparently I found yours.:D

You know I have no ill feelings about Glenn, you, his businees or anything else you band of yahoos do. Just like I know you really don't give a s*** how long it takes me to finish my rig.

I am trying to get another DD/wheeling rig to appease all you skeptics out there. But it looks like I am going to have buy something in Cali and drive it back. Every idiot in this state keeps buying all the Land Cruisers and Tacomas and driving the prices up on these things.

Once again a LC thread gets off topic and I'll fan the flames a bit.

Belmont, you sooo need to drive a Pig cross country from CA. I drove mine back from the UP of MI and I'd be hella tempted to ride cross country with you. Well, maybe not, but it would be a heck of an awesome trip.

this was a thread about treadwright....you stated how they were unsafe and how anyone was crazy for putting on land cruiser. I just showed how these tires were not unsafe and lots of people use them and love them with no more fail rates than NEW TIRES. Many, yourself included, lump these tires with the recaps of the past and our youth we would see littered all over highway from trucks.

I was just replying to your ill informed general statement from right off the start of
"Yeah, they are retreads. Run!
A Land Cruiser deserves better."

I look forward to seeing those tires and hearing Clayton's real world personal experience over the next year or two both on and off road...rather than hearsay.:steer:

Right over your head. He was refering to your mispelling of the company.

Treadwright not Tread Right.:D

Afterwards I figured it was irelevant at this time to point it out. But you wanted to know anyway what I deleted. I was just going to let this thread drop. I got better things to worry about.

See you guys in 1.5 months.:flipoff2:

Hey I will never profess myself as a spelling champ. Trust me you won't hurt my feelings with something like that.

Eventhough, why did you put a :flipoff2: after your comment about the name change?

Jeremy

B/c I was trying to get things back on topic to some degree. No need to read too much into things.

used to be called High-Tec Retreading in Berthoud, CO and then they moved to somewhere in South Dakota.

Gotcha, that straightens it out. Thanks for the info.

Not reading too much into things, it's just when Brock is involved in a thread your smartass meter and bull**** tolerance naturaly goes up.

Now that this has ventured WAY off topic, you boys have a nice time. I'll post pics of the cruiser and my new Tacoma sometime.

Oh, and I might buy some of these Treadwright tires for it when I get back.:flipoff2:
