Iv got a 96 4runner I washed the engine bay yesterday for the first time and now the transmission will not shift out of 1st gear it squeals every time it trys to shift.... Trek has 204,000 miles fluid smells a little burned... Any ideas how to fix this problem? Thx in advance

How is it today? any water left or did it dry off? stick or automatic? not sure if its automatic and it has a drive train power control Module or not. Did you get water down the transmission dip stick tube with stick missing?

Its at transmission shop now its automatic dip stick was not missing.. Not saying water didn't get in tube...it sat for a week I drove it and it shifted a few times then it started doing it again check engine light code said solenoid B....... Any ideas would be great thx
