I have recently bought a 1994 land cruiser the transmission was toast slipped like a bastard and then quit. After i thought i have found a transmission that was correct i soon realized after taking the old transmission out it was different....The big square connector from the transmission was the same wires matched side to side by color orientation. The smaller square connector was different and would not work i took the old connector from the 94 and pinned it for the 95. The trans range sensor was on the right side of the 94 trans and on the left on the 95. The vehicle didn't start so i jumped the neutral safety switch and it started. I relocated it to the right side and repined the wires on the connector so that it didn't read backwards. After reviewing the wiring diagrams for both transmissions i noticed that the 94 has 4 electronically controlled transmission solenoids compared to the 95 witch has 3 with no lock up. I repined the small connector that withheld the wires thinking if i match them i will have all my gears. The trans seems to not be communicating, seems to be in 1st gear. When i let off the throttle the rpms drop to 1,000. So i went back to the small connector moved them to different corresponding solenoid and same result. After reviewing the wiring diagram i noticed there was an ecu and trans control module on the 94 and only an ecu controlling both. Im stumped here... I have a good deal of time and money into this to just give up any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buggar... Can you throw up some more info...
What truck is your original trans from... is a LJ7* or a KZJ7* etc etc And pic of data plate on side of trans...
Also a pic of data plate of your replacement trans...
Infact any pics of the two trans.....

There are some differences between autos even tho they are the same P/N on tag...
Some have 3 solenoids and cable line pressure control
The others have 4 solenoids (one does line pressure)
Both use different ECU's / TCU's.
1994 / 95 is a change year for the LJ and KZJ 70 series...
