My last 3 month trip to the Philippines ended in March 2024.
At time I had used 4WD Hi periodically on a muddy cow path while transiting to the rice farm.
The trail out to the farm and back to the road was easy and uneventful with no noises heard during any of the times 4WD was engaged.
The remainder of the time in the Philippines the PZJ75 performed flawlessly with no noises heard; I departed back to the states in March 2024.
My friend started and drove the LC once a week to keep the battery up and fluids moving until I returned in mid August.
About 2 weeks ago he reported that he was hearing noises (5 months earlier no noises) and informed he would take the truck to a reputable shop in the next town.
The shop mechanic found the transfercase insides were damaged with gears chipped and metal chunks in the case bottom and a gear shaft was protruding from the hole that where it is inserted. The case was split and it was quite disheartening.
Did a search on ToyoDIY (Chassis Number) and Amayama; the parts for a transfercase are pricey along with Shipping and Customs Fees from Japan.
My best option is to locate a used transfercase, but here it the Philippines that is VERY difficult.
Does anyone from the Philippines know of any LC or 4WD shops that could provide assistance ?
All suggestions are welcome.
