Hi folks - noticed some driveway drips under my transfer case, so de-greased the area. Looks like I am getting some seepage roughly at the area marked w/white arrow in 1st picture.

I'm a newbie at all this, so wondering if anyone might have any advice here / if this is just the usual or something to dig into.

Thanks,
AA

That is where the speedometer gear lives. There is an O-ring that needs replacement, an easy repair. Remove the bolt and retainer below and wiggle out the speed sensor to get to the O-ring.

Thank you !

Hey, do you have any updates on this? I am also having oil leaking from the same place and I am having a difficult time finding the o-ring to order a replacement.

I'm finding that some websites say that the 96711-24030 does not fit a 97 landcruiser fzj80 but it is listed on Amaya, ill be buying it anyways

You also have seals that are inside the shaft of the sensor, pita but can be done if the external O-ring didn't fix the leak.

Guess the whole assembly might be worth it then
