Also, someone here at work tells me that he once did his speedo seals and he wrecked it by not alighning the fitting propperly.
Apparently when he went over 40km p/h the speedo went wacko and tore up his dash instruments and was up for a whole new speedo, cable, dash instrument cluster etc etc.
Is this true with the 80 model speedo fitting?

Heres a pic I found from another thread here.

I see the big O-ring, the 'seal' I bought looks to be the small black part that is between the two pieces (it is on the very left of the seperated piece on the right), I think this is right? Will let you know as soon as I get it in.

Also, I hope my rear output seal isn't leaking now.. Would have been good to do that while I was in there.

Rear seal, sealed ! No leaks.

I replaced the O-ring in 10 minutes doing it quick, was a little difficult to get the thing out but a little force and it popped out.
I couldn't figure out where the second seal I bought went so will just return that. O-ring all thats needed. No leaks now.

Just replaced mine last week. Easy ten min. fix. Seal was under $5 from toyota. The seal I took off was dry and hard.
