Transfer case gear noise

Just in time for my first Cruise Moab..... My transfer case has an audible rumble and gear noise that changes between acceleration coasting. The dealer is going to break it open and investigate. From what I know the TC is pretty stout and any failures are rare. Anyone else experience a similar problem?

Is it all the time or only when cold? Mine whines until warm. Dino or synthetic fluid, doesn't make a difference until it's warm

Hot, cold, no difference.

Turned out to be the front diff once all the skids were removed and a closer inspection was made.
