So, apparently there is no way to use an OBDii device to get trans temp (or any other TCM info) from the 4L60 - or at least after getting ODBLink MX wifi I can't figure it out (and can't find anyone on the net that has).

So, I'm going old school and want to put a mechanical trans temp sensor in the 4L60. Is there an existing port that can easily be used, or does it require drilling and tapping.

There is a port. I'm not home, but I'll take a pic of the location later.

There is a test port on the pass side some people have used. Any reason you don't want to just put a "T" in the line for a manifold to tap into?

This is the one I'm using in my Camaro, iirc.

Yes, one of those options should work.
Thanks for the help.

That test port is a 1/4 npt. Same as most temp sensors.

Are you sure that it is not NPSM? The trans cooler ports are NPSM. I ask because an NPT fitting used in an NPSM pport runs the chance of cracking the trans case if over tightened.
