Ok so I am currently running a NP435 with an AA kit to the stock 3 speed case. I am going to go 1 ton as opposed to going the Orion route, so the question is.....

What do I need to know about bolting a np435 to a 203 and a Chevy 205. I know there are different inputs for the 203s and the 205s but im not clear on what I want or need. The doubler between the 203/205 is fairly clear and I think the 203s came behind the np435s but that is the connection that I am currently unclear on.

I will be running a chevy 60 front and a 14 bolt rear, both 4 linked and with coil overs. 42" PitBulls are in the plans but i don't know if the budget will allow them at first, so i guess we will see.

Thanks
Michael

The 435 is a ford transmission, the 465 is the Chevy. The Chevys came with an adapted 203 behind them, (I dont remember years) (or a 205) and there is a guy on the Denver craigslist selling one. MOST 4x2 trannies without a t-case will be multi (32) spline, while 4x4 trannies will have a 10 spline output. Thats why the Toy 3-speed works well behind the SM465, just a little machine work on the splines, find an adapter (Classic cruisers used to make one) and youre adapted with only a 3/4 adapter (not enuff for you 42s) Good luck!

As far as my research goes on the internets here, it appears the 435 came with a 203 behind it, but, like you, i'm unable to find any interface specs, i'll keep digging.

Might be wise to ring AA :)

I found a few good references but there were Ford, GM and Dodge versions of the 203 and the 205 and there were also Ford and Dodge versions of the NP435. It looks like Jeds makes a short adapter for the 435 to the 203 which uses a resplined dodge 435 mainshaft and may be the way to go.
