So, is not like boneyards are a exclusivity of the US, you most be able to find one somewhere from a wreck, somewhere...Overseas, not in the US market
I completely agree, but at that point I imagine the price gets pretty high. And then once again you're gonna have to get a custom standalone controller made for the tranny. Since it would be a one off job, how reliable will it be?So, is not like boneyards are a exclusivity of the US, you most be able to find one somewhere from a wreck, somewhere...

Good to know there's already off the shelf controllers produced, still don't know how much I would put my faith in it. (I've used compushift before on my dodge and it never failed, but nothing like OEM)It looks like the TCU is an off the shelf item compared to the "one off" hybrid pre03/03+ mix of harness and parts alternative
Although it looks like it could be done, I concur with Sandroad's earlier comment "Why?". I've got one of each (2000/2006) in the driveway, and while I prefer the 5spd, about the only way that this even starts to make sense, is if the 2000 4spd is blows up and I already have an unused 5spd sitting in the garage. Even then, is it really worth all of that time, effort and $$? (Not in my opinion)
