Wasting my time as it turns out.
Initially i wanted to replace the seal between tyranny and t~case. The t~case has been pumping into the tyranny, and i wanted to get rid of the jerry-rigged return line running down from the tyranny fill plug to the t-case fill plug. When i got in there i found out that the seal indeed needed to be replaced, but the real problem is that the tyranny output shaft was worn by the t-case input gear, making for a spline pump that would cost about 700$ to fix (new output shaft). And even then, it would still be softer than the t-case gear and wear all over again. That is a guaranteed failure point of the 4 speed, and something Toyota should be ashamed of. so the moral of this rant is that the "jerry rigged" return tube is the correct fix for when your t-case pumps all of its gear oil into the tyranny.
So while i had the tyranny out I put all new gaskets and seals on it and the t-case, replaced all clutch components (the bread trick is THE way to remove even the nastiest pilot bearing), dropped oil pan and put in new pan gasket and rear main seal.
