Trailing around Kansas City area?

Hi all. I'm looking for a few recommendations for trails around the Kansas City, MO area. When I say around I'm looking to travel <3 hours to get there. That should cover a good part of MO, KS, and IA.
I need more scenic trails than technical (b/c the GF) and would like trails to be semi-close to a lake/river for nice camping.

Everything in Iowa is private land. The place that is more known is probably around 3 hours from KC. You will have to work something out with the land owner. Let me know if you want more info.

X2! The only place I have been thats worthy, and I grew up in small town KS. There is Rock Park/obstacle course out SW of Overland park area IIRC but never been there.
