Do any of you have trailers of any kind that you sometimes pull with your truck when wheeling? My 4Runner has the third row option, and if I use it, I have almost no room for cargo. So I've been thinking about a luggage/gear trailer that could be used for highway trips and wheeling trips.

Here is one example I saw:

Oh man... not again! ;)

David,

This has been a topic of MANY discussions not only here on the CSC board and all over MUD but also at many Sonic meets. I had drawn up some roughish stuff in regard to what I wanted my OFFROAD TRAILER to be, but have recently abbandoned them and started thinking of a new design. Brittan and myself will be getting together again on this subject sonner or later (hopefully sooner), to discuss and design something. We'll let ya know what we come up with when it happens.

Keep me in the loop too, with two dogs in the back and the kid I don't even know where to put a fridge.

Cool, I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. I did some more searching yesterday and it looks like the M416 (US) and the Sankey (UK) trailers are pretty popular for turning into 4x4 trailers. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for one of these.

Thanks

David

I have a M416 trailer that tow behind my vehicles (one is a 04 4Runner) and it does not need any modifing for pulling it behind a new 4Runner. Unless you lift you 4Runner it will be able to go anywhere the 4Runner will go. The M416 trailers are design to be towed behind 4X4s already. Unless your hard core rock crawling they will do just fine. If you pick up a old miltary trailer your going to be worried more about damage to the 4Runner than the trailer. These old things are tuff right out box.
