got a pic?

I see what you are saying now.

I have a draw tie on my 62, it does not handle salt very well, do nto knwo if any of the others are any better, probably gonna repalce it with same though.

this a the rediculous aftermath of not beign able to change the ball to another size because it will not let go, the lace hitch finally bent before the ball let go and I decided it shoudl not tow with it.

Thanks for all the great info, My harness looks like the picture, near the spare. I verified the pin orientation and wire colors and ordered from etrailer, 30.94 delivered! Too cool.

Thanks!

I also ordered from etrailer.com, but mine is a 7 pin package.
Broke the first time I used it. The flapper doesn't fit tight now that the plastic hinge assy broke. Reported to etrailer and they say I can install another one.....at my expense. Guess they don't stand behind their products.
Not planning on spending any more money there! Assured them I would steer others away as well.

You mean the cover over the trailer connector broke? Their response is not cool.

Not the cover but the main housing where the hinge pin for the cover is held. If it were just the cover I could replace it easily.
Think I'll try either epoxy or an aluminum strap to hold the hinge in. Don't believe the hinge needs to rotate in the housing, just in the cover, so epoxy may be OK. To replace the whole housing I would have to cut and splice all 7 wires.

Similar issue, different problem.

My harness is there (and ugly, low down aftermarket hitch) but my issue is that the right turn signal and brake light on the trailer do not work. This is consistant on ANY trailer, so I know it be something in the harness or connection to factory wiring.

Any ideas?

The wires on the factory connectors broke on both my '97s, I had to bypass them with splices, see pics in links above.
