Hi Guys,

Put a deposit down on my own Iltis trailer and taking delivery next weekend! I'm happy to have it but now I got to sell my big trailer and I'm looking for an Iltis spare. Found a place in Edmonton that specializes in Iltis and I'll see what I can get.

This is how you make your truck look dumb. Get a really good deal on 16x6 JDM Toyota aluminum wheels (Forerunner or Prado style), then put 235 85 R16 Cooper Discoverer M+S on them ( E rated) and then mount them on the truck for winter. Skinny donuts. I'm interested in the mileage change though. I'll let you know. Should be different than the 33 12.50 Mickey's

Do you have a link or pics for the trailers?

Post some pics let us decide!:D

Speaking of trailers, I just sold my old pick-up and am putting the money towards an expedition style trailer build. Something that tracks behind the cruiser WHERE-EVER it will go and big enough to carry my quad, my dingy and some camping gear.

I need a pic of this Iltis trailer you speek of Gofast, is it of the expedition style or RV live-in type?

Gofast, when I changed from the stock 31s to the 255/85R16s I gained about 2 mpg. You're going in the other direction, but your 33s are wider than mine so likely have more rolling resistance...
I'll be interested what affects it has on your mileage too.

The Iltis is the M101cdn 1/4 ton trailer:

Iltis = M101... didn't know that.

I sure wish a quad would fit in that trailer.

I looked at one for sale at an outdoor show once and figured it would take some serious fab time to enlarge the whole thing to meet my needs.

Totaly doable, just not enough value added to warent cutting a perfectly good trailer in quarters, if you know what I mean.

The 235 85 R16's measure out to about a half inch difference than the 33 12.50. mickeys. So, I'm a little smaller now.

What I've noticed is a quicker get up and go so I'm probably cancelling out my milelage. Just filled up with 72 litrers and hit the odometer. I usually average about 570km on that amount so in about a week, I'll get a interesting reading.

The trailer was purchased from the army surplus fellow here in town. His name is Albert and he's got 3 left.

Marlin, my current utility trailer is for sale and will definately take a quad. Willing to take interesting trades.

Cheers,
John

Do you have some bigger pictures?

So when you say 7pin connection... does it have brakes?

I would like to take a look at it.

I've always taken it as Iltis = the VW/Bombardier truck that was paired with the m101 trailer.

My bj60 is currently on 235/85/16 and with a 4" lift they do look a bit goofy, but I've gotten used to it.

Hi Marlin,

No brakes on the trailer. Axle was built using jeep axle stubs welded to a 2.5 inch pipe. Basically using the front two wheel drive jeep hubs. Still have the discs attached so its maybe possible to rig something up.

I've can take larger pics and can e-mail them. PM with your deets and I'll forward them on.

Cheers,
John
