Imagine, cool temps, fresh mountain air. Or, just stay at home and swelter in the valley :)

I'm running Simley Rock up near Jerome this Sunday. Trail rating should be moderate + (in the rocky areas) I've never been on this trail - something I've always wanted to do. And a good time of the year to get out of the valley for the day.

You can find trail reports/photos on various websites and/or Arizona off-road guide books

MEETING TIME: 9AM - leaving at 9.20
MEETING PLACE : McDonalds Carefree Hwy/I-17

From what I've read, 33's are a good idea for the rocky section

I'm thinking I could also bring my little portable campfire grill, and we can fire up some dogs or burgers on the barbie for lunch. Yum!

Where you meeting up north?

High point of trail at the top of Mingus mountain......or by the Firehouse in Jerome at the bottom?

We'll meet at the firehouse. I've read it is better to run the trail up to Mingus.

Probably be there around 10.30 or so

Remeber to do your part to keep the trail clean while you're out there.

That's a great trail. No real challenge per se but a beautiful area that should stay that way.

well, it's far enough out of the valley and not well known enough to attract all the weekend 'quaders', so that should cut down on some of the trash for a while, at least

When I ran it a couple years ago it was a pretty clean trail, only a few scattered cans. Hopefully it's still that way. It is pretty far back in there so hopefully that keeps the knuckleheads away for a while.

Is it just 2 trucks going so far, Phoenixrider?

What kinda rigs are they bringing?
