Drove to Chicago in my 99 LX470, and saw a 03 Land Cruiser. Got a deal I couldn't refuse on the Cruiser, and sold my LX470, all in 3 hours.

It's a 2003 Land Cruiser, with nav, from Arizona and was just traded in on a X5 at the local BMW dealer. It's insanely clean. Lower mileage and the LX needed some repairs that were not only costly, but some I really couldn't do. For what I paid for the Cruiser, I actually am saving money on the needed repairs.

Looks way worse in the pictures too!

AND no more ugly faded out paint! WOOHOOOO

Might have been a major deciding factor haha. My paint on the LX was getting so bad, that flakes would come off in your hand on the roof, during a car wash, etc. Drove me nuts. It needed a repaint so badly.

Can't wait for the 03 though. The pics were taken at my mechanic, where he was doing an oil change (at the dealers expense), then off to the detail shop, and I pick up on Friday.

Very nice! We are talking about a possible move next year, which would possibly necessitate a second Cruiser or LX for my wife, given the mid-western winters. Good to see that there are clean ones out there!

I'm in Highland Park, the Cruiser is from Fields BMW in Northfield. Where in Northern Illinois are you?

Chicago is a great city. There is so much to do, and I love VISITING. I don't think I could live here anymore because of the weather.

IF anyone in Chicago does need a mechanic btw, I have a great guy who does exceptional work (owns a 2007 LX470 and a 2000 Land Cruiser himself), and its where the car is pictured. PM if needed.

I'm in Hinsdale, right next to Oak Brook. Also have a place out in the country.

Chicago IS a great city and I'll always be rooted here but I definitely envy the West for obvious reasons.

I could always use a good mechanic! PM sent.

congrats!
And now you can go the beach in Montecito without being harassed for an unsightly paint job... :)

Looks good! I would take that brushguard off asap and put that towards the real deal.

grats on the find!

You still have the original wheels around? I might buy them from you.

TIA.

Torsion bar tweaked (finally). Now I'm just wondering how I drove it so long without doing it.

Hello damage multiplier!

Still a beaut of a cruiser. this color grey with everything blacked out looks tough
