Just installed the OEM hitch and harness, but can't find what freakin' class (III or IV) it is? Does it matter?

Did you order it from your Toyota dealer? Also, did the rear plate on the bumper need to be changed? Just got my FJ last week...ya I love it... and it looks even better sitting next to my 40 and 45...but, it didnt have a hitch and I would like to add one. Thanks for the info

Good question. I suppose I'd have to measure the diameter of the pin hole. Toyota's documentation is woefully short in this area.
UPDATE: It's 5/8".

Yeah, ordered it from the local Toyota dealer. The best online prices were no better after shipping. You need to change the lower bumper fascia which is included with the hitch. Installing the hitch was a cakewalk, but you do need a torque wrench. The hitch bolts are 80 lb ft, and I thought I was going to break them suckers. The wiring harness is also pretty easy to install. The only tricky part there was attaching converter underneath the dash. The hole is recessed. When Toyota says you need a 12" ratchet extension, believe it! I got by with a 6" extension but it was a b*tch. If you want/need to consult, PM me.

Thanks, sounds easy enough. Once I get it ordered and in the garage if I have any questions, I'll let you know. Sounds like I should pick up a 12" extension!
