I was reading on forum.ih8mud and you ware discussing motor 13L and 3B.

If you do not mind that i ask you a question.

I am planing to buy a Toyota BJ 73 (1990) but it have a WM motor from Italy (130000 KM) and i think the car was mount, put together in Portugal.

My question is can i mount a 3B engine direct in the BJ 73 that i have from my BJ 40 will the gearbox fit and so on.

Hope that you can answer or have suggestion for me.

Dag

this car was assembled in portugal with this vm engine. but the rest of the car is toyota 100%. the gear box is a h55f and the 3b engine should fit ok. I did the conversion from vm engine to 1hz and runs perfect.

Hi Dag. Ive seen a few posts about BJ73 with VM engines on here but I cant recall anyone installing a 3B to replace the VM.
Its not too hard to weld new mounts onto the frame

What kind of intercooler have you?
the truck had intercooler, but actualy, the car has a HZ engine with no turbo.

about the 3b conversion should be easier than hz conversion. bj73 in europe normaly fit 3b engine...
regards
