Nice pistons. How’d the rebuild go? Still performing?
Fantastic , 7000 km since the rebuild , no issue for the moment :) perform nice !! , 1 bar turbo, about 220 to 350 degres at exhaust (depend of rpm) , no heat issue, AFR 20.9

The 2LTE has pistons with an oil gallery in the crown that the piston oil squirter puts oil into. The piston crown is also a ceramic fiber reinforced alloy. They are very tough. Size is wrong for the 1HZ unfortunately.... But I can say the technology works very well. I've never heard of one cracking. Personally I've been running 19psi (intercooled) and as much fuel as the factory pump can put out for over 6 years; no problems.
Hey sry to ask prob answered many times but I'm look at possibly new pistons and noticed the teiken alfins pistons are a lot lighter than the new OEM ones are the oem still made with that ceramic matrix ringland? and is it better in everyway compared normal alfin?

Wouldn't lighter pistons throw the balance of the crank counter weights? Not sure lighter is necessary for low revving diesel anyhow? You should double check the weight thing; because I can't see someone manufacturing a piston that requires the crank to be modified.

I have no idea if the new 2LTE pistons are still reinforced. But I can say I almost never hear of piston problems on a 2LTE; so don't think they're an issue. Alfin pistons would be just as good in any case I think.

Ah, probably just an inaccurate shipping weight. I'm sure all those are fine, but for after market, just make sure of the part numbers. Talk to your auto machine shop before buying parts too.

Thanks I might be able to reuse my old ones which I think are std OEM ceramic ones and bore is like 91 something mm but idk about sleeves, but if not I'm just worried down the line as I'm planning to make this my forever truck
