Towing my 80 series with my 100 series

I'm pretty sure it's been done. I think it will exceed the towing capacity limit depending upon the weight of the trailer. I'd make sure the trailer has brakes.

If the 80 weighs 5000lbs, and the trailer is 2000lbs, that's over the 6500 limit and right at 7000.
 
^Yeah I'm sure it wouldn't be the best thing to do by exceeding the tow capacity, but I'm also sure it wouldn't be too bad. I'd just take extra precautions and maybe test drive around town before diving straight into a 1000 mile trek.

Would not do it even if you paid me. Years ago when I just finished the ShortBus (cut up 80) I towed it to Moab with my 100. Weight distribution hitch and brake controller installed. After that trip I came back and bought a diesel 3/4 ton pickup.
