....and gotta roll with them white trash folks to have that on the hood!

...Also dont want to offend any of the CL ladies... not to mention, wife and lil' troopers are coming too!

so what about my 93 paloma?

any info?

I 've been putting tranny oil on the stinky Mexican diesel!

This based on the suggestions of my buddies!

so far so good!:hillbilly:

Don't add transmission fluid. I don't see an issue adding 2 cycle oil to the fuel for the VE pump.

Don't add transmission fluid. .

Lots of big rig mechanics do this. It's supposed to help clean the injectors and such but does nothing for lubrication. Stick with Lucas products for cleaning and add some 2stroke oil to help lubricate. Just my $.02

Some say the VP44 doesn't like tranny fluid in the long run. Read it in the cummins forum I think. Stickin' to the Super Tech myself. I have run the Diesel Service as a cleaner a time or 2.

Very informative. I'm going to be adding some 2 cycle oil into my fuel tank. 1 oz per gallon of diesel.

so it's 1oz/ 1 gallon, right?

I regasket the pump last year but I was not driving my Paloma as much as this year!

so far so good!.... she's runnig better than ever!

I will change to the suggested super tech oil

yes, 1 oz per gallon. If you add too much, it will smoke a little more.

I haven't been doing the 1oz per gallon. I just add 16 oz every fill up. Seems to work. I guess I need to buy it by the gallon. Would be cheaper I'm sure.

Don't care about the smoke as long it's black and not in the garage:hillbilly:

If it does smoke and wife:princess: catches that.... I am in trouble, of course Fernie and I will be gigling:grinpimp:

I will buy the gal of this super additive!

Here is what i been tro'n in there.

BTW, did you get that checked out Lenny? It's gonna be a lot hotter while towing this time.

Wasnt an overheating issue when the hose pooped off firewall, it was an engine torque issue. I was doing 65 mph down hill pulling Jrobs 40 foot trailer with camper, zuk and half ass when i wanted to go slower the allioson tranny downshifted sending the motor to 3500 rpm ( yes in th red line). After about 3 times of this happening ( i was still trying to slow down) the hose popped off the forewall and emptied the coolant. Luckily, We were able to find a gas station within minutes of this happening.

It didnt happen when we came back because i went slower on the hills.

Tested it doing donuts in an ex's front yard... No problems.

hot damn lennie!

yesterday after work I went to get my buddies trailer(gooseneck)

I already asked him to sell it to me since I always borrow it and he said no. at this point he rather lend it to me.

today I went to check the bearings and surprisingly they have plenty of grease!

as every trailer, the light system was not working, which I already knew!

We tried to fix the lights and brakes and there was a mess down there.

I opted for buying those cheap trailer lights w/ an extension, since the we needed some more to get the wires to the trailer.

fix a battery terminal in my paloma, fix my lil' fix a flat compressor and bought the fittings for the air thank and hose.

...As far as air, I am in bussines!

I think my buddy said that my air tank is a 2000 psi, which I have no Idea what that means, but just in case, therefore I fixed the cheap compressor.

to the bad:mad:

After I sent my paloma to get the brake job done, today doing during some fluid check, found out that the front compartment on the brake master cylinder needed some brake fluid.

this is a bad sign!

went around the tires to see if any of the brakes was bleeding, and to my surprise, it wasn't!

the only thing that I could think of is the brake master cylinder is about to go since it's got moisture/brake fluid all over since they fix the brakes last month.

so my Paloma is going back to the shop for a check on the master cylinder, since I am not going to have a chance to fix it myself.

The way we're going, or I should say , I am going I might have to get a loan in order for me to go to this trip!

the only good thing is a good piece of mind, better safe then sorry:hillbilly:

Domek,

Sorry to hear about your problems with Paloma. It will be worth it. Still cheaper to fix while you're in town instead of being on the road.

I have a couple of more things to do for my truck (gear oil in the diffs and nv5600 oil) to do today and I should be done.

Getting tired of doing all this wrenching. Body is not liking it too much...

glad to hear your list is getting smaller!

Body not liking wrenching?

I dont have the time to wrench. I am outsourcing all these Lil' jobs, therefore maintenance funds is low!

I really wish I have the time to do some of this repairs!
