Tow strap torn

I tore this strap , it was new, this morning. I was pulling the small mitsubshi. Endeavor I 5th inkIit was up the last little bit of a hill. I did a snatch. Him a llittle bit but I got him off the Iice. Also pulled an F150. I plan on getting another tow strap. THis one came from tractor supply 6500 lb pull 17,000 lb break.

Yup - that strap is toast. Was it against a sharp or rough edge?

The tow hook on the mitsubishi. Did it.

ive torn a strap when it back off the hook just enough and punched a hole in it which then ripped.

Using captive attachment points is best which will prevent an open hook from catching a loop and punching a hole through it. In the field though that's not always an available option though.

How did you break an 80k lb strap? How wide and how many plies was it?
