So I finally made up my mind on a suspension lift. TC just came out with their plus 2 lift that is a long travel allowing 12in of travel but doesn't require you to put on fiberglass fenders, I will be installing this lift early feb, and will post up pics throughout the whole process.

This kit is very nice. And wait until you see the size of the coils overs that go with it.

Metal tech just finished putting mine together so they are a good resource if you have questions.

good luck.

looks like a good set up. how much does it cost? was doing reading on it how much and where do you get the longer shafts up front that they say you need.

TC sells the extended shafts as well. and they are 2" longer like you would suspect. For pricing check w/ a TC dealer. I went to Metal Tech. You also need new coil overs... It really hurt to toss my SAWs but they are just not big enough... luckily SAW makes an extended version.

BTW: this set up is really new... I have the second pair of SAWs made and #10 from TC. The other SAW/TC combo was tested by Walker Evens.

I'll have something up soon about this on my blog and 4WD Toyota Owner will carry a story on these soon. (more of an intro piece since it is not like you can have a step by step on building an IFS with all new parts)

Paul Your secrets out of the bag.:p

hahaha

Yeah... just finishing up the video of Mark and LT putting it all together. I'm just about done cramming 12 hours of video into 10 minutes. And still try to cover all the stuff they did.

Hopefully you blurred out my face for the sake of the people :flipoff2:

The camera loves you... Hula Betty is going to make you a star of stage and screen... that way if this whole 4X4 thing turns out to be a fad you have something to fall back on :-)

Thx again for the all the work on the rig. Looking forward to seeing you guys soon.

right now the lift is on sale through ORW website for 2600 and the axle extenders are 500 after that all you need is the coil overs and you can spend as much as you want on those...not really sure what to put on the rear to match this lift, and ideas?

You can leave your aftermarket springs and shocks on. The long travel kit will level out the front end or have a slight rake to it depending on the pre-load on the springs.

rightnow i have stock in the rear, i do a lot of desert running, would it be beneficial to upgrate the rear to resivoir shocks and new springs or keep it stock?

also what size and type of tires are you running with this lift?

You will want to upgrade your rear shocks and springs to aftermarket. The piggyback shocks from Icon Vehicle Dynamics have an external resevoir or there is the Sway Away shocks that is all internal.

You can easily run 33" tires, might possibly be able to run 35" tires.

To run 35" tires, you will need to drop the rear bump stops and likely need to trim the frame in the after part of the front fenders IWO the body mounts.

Saw your Hula Betty clip, very nice job compressing 12 hours of video into what was shown, thought your presentation effectively conveyed the gist of the project. Sounds like a very expensive mod with that much labor, suspension, shafts, fab'ed parts and shocks.

Wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind. Did you consider the All Pro Offroad alternative, it's also 12" travel and fairly new but less $$? These two systems seem so close, if considered what were the reasons you went w/TC, what did you think was better?

Also, you mention you're sold on SAW's how would you compare them to Fox equivelents? Less money, better quality, heavier duty, more adjustable or (non-technical) personal preference?

Just working to fine tune my wish list, appreciate any advice from someone who's walked the walk so to speak.

Thanks...
