This is the HJ60, which is the 6-cyl diesel. Very rare to find in a left hand drive.
Bought this beauty from someone in Saskatoon and had it shipped over. Had to do a bunch of work to get it certified, but she's now roadworthy. Has a new set of Michelin LTX Defenders. Am currently running it as my daily driver.
I was planning on getting this thing back to being pristine, but life circumstances have changed and we will hopefully be leaving the country in the next few months, so unfortunately I won't be able to see this project through.
4x4 still works well, just had the gas tank reconditioned. Comes with an almost new ARB bull bar which is worth over $1000 on its own. Also has a swing-out spare tire carrier on the back.
Here's the laundry list of what needs to be done:
- Chassis is rusty and has 1 hole that was welded over when I was getting it safetied. If I were keeping it, I was going to treat it with a rust converter.
- Blows a little bit of white smoke, mostly just on startup. Still running strong, though, and doesn't seem to lack any compression when climbing hills on the highway. Doesn't seem to be burning coolant, either.
- Air conditioning not working, although all the parts are there.
- Slight shudder when coming off the throttle at 120km/h. Online research seems to point to a rear pinion seal.
- Relay rod end likely needs replacement. When making a tight left turn, it sometimes will skip a little.
- Needs a new driver's side sun visor.
- Oil pressure and fuel gauges not working.
Asking $12,000 CAD.
Price is firm-ish, but open to negotiation. No trades.
