Only time I drove it till fuel light came on it said 3 miles to go, I chickened out and as I was pulling into station it went on. I then put 23.56 gallons in.
Yep, that is the root cause of this discussion.It is very well documented on this board and verified by my experience that the low fuel light comes on very early on these trucks. You have roughly 50 miles of range after the computer goes to zero.

Bottomline do not top off or if it really stops early it is either the pump (so fuel up at another pump next time and witness the same) or you already deteriorated your system by previous abuse ( clearly the case when you claim you can top off another 2 gallon and have that “experience” already).

Yea, I think we are saying the same thing. I have never topped off my truck. My point was if he is putting in 24 gallons right after the low fuel light came on than he is overfilling.
