I was hoping to do a last-minute tent camp for tomorrow night (sat. 05/31) at Arrowhead. I've never been to the site or Uwharrie. Won't be doing ORVing, just want to get a quick, peaceful night out in the woods. Anyway, I waited too long and missed the reservation window and the office is closed. Is it worth it to pack a few things in the truck and head on down in hopes of scoring a site? I have no idea on the supply/demand of this campground.

Whatchyall think?

There are other campsites there as well, did you check them all? Also, you can primitive camp pretty much all over the forest, they have signs where it is prohibited.

So yeah, I definitely think it's worth heading down. :)

You can't reserve a site less than 36 hrs. prior, IIRC. Check the reservation site to see availability and that may be enough to show you how booked it is. Unless there's a BIG club there this weekend, ususally first come first serve is not bad at Arrowhead.
