Thanks for having another look. I'll cross that one off the list.
I'd buy that '99 in a second if it had ATRAC and VSC.. argh. It's my favorite colour combo too! I had a look at it a couple weeks ago even though I'm looking for an '01, and it's in amazing shape. Paint chips on the hood were the worst issues I noticed with a quick look. Talk me out of insisting in the alphabet requirements, lol.

What are you going to use the truck for?

99.9% in-town pavement driving. DD and mall-cruiser for the :princess: on our days off. I've done some FSRs and a bit of exploring in other areas with my Pajero and I'd like to do some more. But I won't be "wheeling" any time soon. Whipsaw.. maybe one day. So basically family-safe DD and short commuter. I do drive in the winter whatever the weather, and I really like the positive stories on here regarding VSC and how capable ATRAC is for a rookie like me.

Well for a pavement princess that lives in the lower mainland most of the time, I wouldn't pass up a nice 99 that was in my price range just to get ATRAC and VSC.

That "rust-free" '99 is down to $10,900.
The "bones" on the '01 are good... service history, AHC, timing belt done, reasonably low km. I agree it's in less-than-great condition. They've been spamming CL at $11,800 for weeks now. I wonder how low they'd go to get rid of it. It looks overall average for a 13-year-old car, which I realize is poor for a 100! I'd have to factor in audio work/replacement, and do some rust-halting work. Isn't tailgate rust "cruiser-rust", aka somewhat typical? The sills looked good, as did the bottom of the doors. Thanks for the continued input.

T-belt is unknown on the grey 99. I asked him if he knew when it was done and he didn't know. I asked him to phone Lexus to see if they had it on record but he never phoned me back about that. Guess it hasn't been done:meh:

I went and looked at this one today.

Unbelievably clean, originally from Nevada, 112k on it and has the nice little t-belt sticker on the rad support. Has both keys, and a fat book with the owners manual etc in it. Everything works on it. Even the pwr aerial and the AHC.

Problems. It's gold, it's gold and it's gold and it has terrible bling rims on it.:crybaby:

I was looking for an 03 but this is actually close to my budget were as 03's are not!

I might have to make an offer on GoldMember.:hhmm:

Lol, I like the gold, but I'm set on avoiding the '00 year because of the transmission issues. Other than that.. We'd be in a battle right now!

Ya. I've read a bunch about the "issues" Seems the most popular year for probs but wasn't limited to just 2000. I think that it is quite overblown though.

Gold? Call it Cashmere Beige Metallic and you'll be fine. I wouldn't mind that colour. it would actually compliment my FJ40.

And you can list those hideous wheels on Kijiji or CG and use that money for some nice ones. you'll be surprised how many people like them. :grinpimp:

Like you said, I wouldn't worry too much about transmission failure. And it's not like it a new vehicle. It's 13 years. If it rides nice and tight and everything works (all buttons and AHC) I would seriously consider it.
