My advise is to check Craigslist and TW for a used one. There are tons of them for a good deal. That's how we got our Camper Top. We paid a quarter of the price for a used one that had all the features we wanted including a Thule rack with a tray. It's just a way to save some a bunch of money.
As far as what kind of cover... that's all you. I've personally never liked them but just because they don't suite the need I have for the bed of the truck.

I did see a grey hardtop tonneau on Craigslist off a '05 shortbed tacoma.But you probably want a white one.
I've seen some nice ones that had hatches so you could access gear in the front easy.
Other than that I haven't paid much attention to them, as they never suited my needs.

My truck has an Undercover Flex. It is a folding hard cover. I decided to get this Undercover tonneau because it has a low-profile design and is less pricey than the Bak.
