Our new girl has just over 247K on the clock and I wasn't sure when the last time the drivetrain had been serviced so I had Toyota deliver some T-IV ATF and a factory engine oil filter, O'Reilly deliver some Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic and a new set of hood struts, and used the bulk gear oil we have at the shop for the diff's and transfer-case.

At Mercedes we use two different kind of differential fluids, (Castrol Axle Limited Slip Gear Oil ‑ 80W‑90) and Mercedes-Benz 75w85 Synthetic gear oil. I know the 80w90 is perfect for the axles as my LX has rear LSD, but was hesitant to use the 75w85 as the transfer-case calls for 75w90 but I think it will be fine.

To my surprise the transmission fluid came out clear bright red, so it must have been serviced not too long ago. I was going to drop the pan, but was in a hurry so I just did a drain and fill.

The gear boxes also didn't look too bad but now that's it's mine I know the fluids are new and have a starting point count on from.

The old weak hood struts were a brand called (Lift Supports Depo.com) and O'Reilly had some "Sachs Stabilus" Model#SG329040 which I actually think is the brand we use when replacing the decklid struts on the SL (W230 chassis).

Since we got her a couple weeks ago she's got new 285 BFG ATKO2's, new dust filters, new valve cover gaskets, fixed the right axle boot leak, had the detail department clay, polish, and Cilajet the exterior, and detail the interior.

We went from a 97 Collector Edition with 315's, full armor, 4.88's, oil leaks, and rust to a 98 LX470.

I can't tell you how nice it is to have a leak free, rust free, quiet, powerful, vehicle. I'm truly enjoying it, the heated seats, rear A/C for the dog, and I can't get enough of the AHC and AVS!

Lol..... Josh you sold your 80 again....? I have a solution for ya, keep a hundy and an 80... That's what I did....You'll be back in an 80 sooner than later.. peace bruh...

Robert, that was our 3rd 80 series, this makes our 2nd 100, but this time a Lexus and I'm in love! I know the struggle on Mud is back and forth between an 80 and a 100, (you can see it in the "Classified" section all the time) but I think I can finally say no more 80's!!

Gotcha ya! As long as you own a Cruzah it's all gravy. ..
