to buy a roof rack or make one myself?

hey everybody what's up? I just got my first cruiser its a 69 fj40 and I am ready to start getting it to what I want it to be does anyone know if making my own roof rack is better then buying one? and how good the one's you can buy are?

Depends on your skills and desire I suppose....I'm making my own so I can get exactly what I want/need in a soft top rack...Study other guys racks and see whats for sale online...heep racks included and come up with a list of things you want/need and then decide if buying or making would be best...

Can't comment on the quality of bought racks.....havent bought one...

Depends if you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself or if you just want to dump down some cash and order one premade.
Are you wanting a hard top version or a softtop/notop version.

wow that is pretty cool

I like that I know I could fab one up but I'm just thinking some of the prebuilt ones are cool to and wanted to get some feed back. this is my rig but I have just started on it.

roof rack over soft top,,you can buy a wilderness rack and make your own rack support..or better start using the search and read -take pictures-ideas of what suit your needs..
