School me on brushgards... Does the FJ look better with a brushgard? Will I ever use it? Will It be to masculin for me? Where would I get one?

Appearance is personal taste, some like 'em, some don't. Brushguards are good for warding off frontal attacks from grocery carts, but otherwise are bling. IMHO. They have earned the name "damage multipiers", as when they really hit something, they crush your grill, radiator, hood and possibly fenders - at least that was my experience with my Toyota brushguard and my 4Runner.

Yeah, their "damage multiplier" reputation turned me off them quickly....if you grab 99% of them, the wings move...tag something lightly and those wings will push back and do more damage...
IMO, save for a full on bumper replacement...I tagged a deer at 70mph on Wed nite with my 80-series...the ARB bumper needed washing, but zero actual damage...the investment in that bumper paid for itself right there.

Full bumper replacement is the only way to go

I had the ARB on my '91 4Runner, and an ARB will be going on the FJ next Tuesday.
They are worth every penny.
Replace the whole bumper with an ARB or any of the other myriad available from different vendors. Brushguards are so 1993...

I agree dont go brush guard go reeplacement fj cruisers look amazing with an ARB.
Where you are located, probably man-a-fre. I would check out the pics of installed bumpers from different mfgs, and pick the one you like the looks of most. There is a thread on fjcruisersforum.com on this specific issue. Good luck!
