Even though I am no longer actively acting as the club delegate, I was asked to continue monitoring stuff for the club while they get someone new to do this job. Since I won't be at the meeting Tuesday, I thought I'd let you guys know that there were some by-laws changes at the last meeting.
The new bylaws and SOPs are available for viewing here:
TLCA : Bylaws of the Toyota Land Cruiser Association
TLCA : SOPs of the Toyota Land Cruiser Association
Changes were made to allow absentee voting as well as removing outdated event SOPs that were not being followed anyways. Membership currently stands at 3500 or so, and there is currently discussion amongst the reps about instituting a 'gold' pass that TLCA would fund that would allow the winner [pass donated as a raffle item] to a set amount towards registration at ANY TLCA sanctioned event. Current figure being discussed is in the $150 range.
President Alan Loshbaugh has pointed out that the people most likely to actually use the gold pass are the same folks that would have most likely bought a registration anyways, so he doesn't see there being a net benefit to the host club or the TLCA in terms of getting additional people or $$ into the TLCA for the $$ the BOD would have to allocate to make this gold pass workable.
If you guys want to discuss this and come up with a concensus, I will relay it to the BOD.
Cheers
Mark A.
