Trying to implement some ideas, but need someone with app development skills, podcast knowledge, and smart phone barcode link knowledge.
Please contact me through pm if you can help. Thanks!!

Justin, by barcode are you meaning Q/R-Code?

IIRC there's an app avalable for a pc that'll convert just about any page link, etc into a Q/R-Code, for example: QR-Code Generator is one program we played with at work for product info for our customers to easily gain access to. It's a downloadable program that we clipped in the url page of say a race helmet's info, made the code up, printed it up, and put it on the store's site and along with the hang tags on the product pricing.

There should be a ton more available if you want to check out apple's home page including one you can download to an android, iPhone, or other smart phones. http://www.apple.com/search/?q=qr+code

There is also a rumor of an app being built (in process and R&D) that you can use with your iPad or MacBook's camera to scan and then it'll save it all as a web-page preview or if a story or article it can then convert it into a book format to read through at your leisure. If I can needle out some more info I'll provide what I can for you in this thread.

Here, see if this works for you, it should be the TLCA HomePage..if it works and doesn't give some 404 error code or other junk try putting it into the next issue right inside where your letter goes, where you had that shot of you and your MTB and tell folks to try it out.

 Shane

No error codes, and worked beautifully. So, that is awesome, and I will look in this further. Now, we just need the app developer, and podcaster help!
Thanks, as always, Shane!!

FWIW you can simply do as I did and just goto that site, clip in a webpages url to their generator, hit enter and screen shot it to get the pic like I did..then throw it into your image processing program (iPhoto in my case) crop it down to size and post it up. Freeware usage at it's finest.

As another example, what does this come up as? ;)

People needn't be afraid of the technology, it has it's place, just as that 4gig flash card does with all my FSM's on it in my glovebox. 4gigs covers a ton of Toyota Manuals for a ton of years, provided I have the ability to open it at a shop's computer, someone's laptop, or the newer phones. Ever watch someone diagnose a CEL off a phone while sitting on the trail, guy was awestruck. No reception needed, just plug it in and read away. No stained and greasy pages, wipe the phone off and go. :D

Are you saying that you used a QR code generated by the vehicle's ECU? Which would pull up a section of a FSM if you have it plugged into your phone.
I know Denso-Wave created the QR code back in 94.

I have a ton of FSM's on a flash card that I connected to a phone since it was closer than a laptop at the time. I always have it with me for trips, etc so I don't have to haul around heavy manuals, although people might get pissed if you leave greasy fingerprints on their iPhone. ;) :wrench:

Mr. Ward, Mr. Ward to the service desk please. ;)

Mr Ward..

;) Where's this?
