Since nearly all events are chapter organized, why not mandate a certain percentage must be given to TLCA? I think all of the groups are non-profit. And, correct me if I am wrong, but in order to be a member of a local chapter, you have to be a TLCA member. Even if local dues went up a bit, I would think that it would be "easier to bear", given that it is being paid at the local level, where one sees more involvement/action. Or, as I am thinking off the top of my head, why not have a certain percentage of each members local chapter dues go to TLCA?

According to TLCA bylaws, 10% of proceeds from chapter sanctioned events are paid to TLCA. Also according to bylaws, all chapter members who are eligible to be TLCA members, must be TLCA members. TLCA dues are completely separate from chapter dues.
