It is likely that I am stating the obvious to most here…
But for those not familiar with the Toyota Land Cruiser Association (TLCA), the following could be of interest.
For decades, the TLCA has helped sponsor local chapters host events to bring the Cruiser community together via organized events. Most events are characterized by opportunities to utilize and experience our Cruisers in their natural habitat … off the pavement.
Some might consider avoiding these events assuming that they are only for built trail trucks. At the core of this assumption is stock trucks and drivers with limited off-road experience should not attend. I have attended numerous events hosted by varied TLCA chapters and never remotely found this to be the case. Rather it has been my experience that chapters hosting these events openly welcome stock trucks and drivers eager to learn. In such instances, the key is to let the event staff know of your interest in trail choices for stock trucks and experienced trail leads that can fuel drivers with the off-road information and skills that they seek for their stock Cruisers.
i.e., Give the event staff the chance to help you find the event experience that positive memories and friendships are built from.
In my case, I have attended 2 events (RoundUp and Relic Run) with my BJ70 so far in 2022. I will be attending more before the year is done. I hope to see you there.
