We have a "special" vote on Monday....Does anyone have any objections to a joint TLCA membership drive with Blue Ribbon Coalition...as long as it follows the by-laws? Benefits will include a $25 gift card to 4-wheel parts.
PM me if you have an issue / vote no, otherwise I will take silence as acceptance...no need to start a huge debate on this site.

Thanks,

Perry

means this:
in conjunction with brc, we are thinking of having a "joint" membership drive. brc is reducing it's dues, as is T.L.C.A., and we are attempting to offer a membership that will get you in to both clubs, at a $40 price point. brc has arranged for a 4wp gift card of $25, so your effective membership into both groups is $15.
brc will handle new member apps, as well as renewal apps, and all money and membership processing for their end, and we will handle all money and processing for our end.
they will gain access to the national member list, but will not be using it for any purpose, other than to handle the brc end of the deal.

the purpose is twofold. first, and most obvious, more members for both groups. second, and only slightly less obvious, for T.L.C.A to be able to present an option that involves the membership in more land use issues, as many people say that we don't do enough, even though there are already plenty of groups dedicated to this endeavor. this way, we won't be stepping on the toes of the groups that do this work, but we will be helping, by swelling the ranks, and the dollars available to support them. and hopefully, bring others back, or into our club for the first time.

that help??? any other questions, just ask, i'll be glad to help.

I'm confused.
You ask if anyone has an objection, then ask that they forgo debate here?

I have an objection.
You have PM.
Nick

Hope you don't mind but I'm going to "borrow" this for the WToE board. :D Thanks

Joining TLCA...& BRC

I have a question - when & where can I sign up? Sounds like a good enough deal to get me to re-new my long expired membership in TLCA. Perhaps even join the local chapter as well...I do appreciate the under-appreciated efforts of the BRC. Once this is official, I am in!

Pm replied....I am open to answering any questions, or getting the answer. I was just looking for some feedback. The explanation above of the motion is dead on.

Based on this information, I think it sounds great. I'm curious as to Nick's input though if he has reservations.

No problems from me.
I think Blue Ribbon Coallition is good, especially out west. Gregg Mumm, the President of BRC, is a cruiserhead and committed leader. My concern is reducing our membership cash flow because TLCA is living hand to mouth.

I'm convinced that TLCA is moving from a national magazine back to a loose federation of car clubs. That's okay, just sad. Combining with BRC will give folks another topic of national interest to talk about.

;-)

Chuck- this will "hopefully" be ratified at a special bod meeting soon, so that you will see the ad and have the ability to join starting in January. As of now, there is not enough dissent for this not to go through.

Nick- I hear you. It's a bit of a calculated risk. The idea is that with so many crying land use, and so many not renewing for that reason, at least, so we've heard over and over, we are reaching out by giving those folks the chance to join both clubs. The "discounted" rate for T.L.C.A. will be $25, because as you say, it's hand to mouth right now, and much more of a discount than that, and we'd be in real trouble.
Having said that we are actually ahead of, or as of last update from Casey, only $7 dollars down on the year, because Chris has gone WAY above and beyond and sold lots of ads for us.
This is a drive that will do good things for both groups, and as Chuck has said, He will rejoin after a long absence. This exactly what we are hoping for, provide a value that we have not previously provided, and hopefully bring folks back to us.

If you renew as first class, you'll still pay the premium for first class, but you'll get the discount on membership. So, instead of $43, you total would be $38, plus the $15.

Please ask any other questions you have, and I'll be happy to answer them. This is just a solution to one problem, and it's something we can do now, to provide membership value, and move in the right direction!
